Composition: Ahn Byong-won 안병원 安丙元 (1926-2015)
In today’s categories, Ahn was a South Korean composer. However, this song was made sometime after the division of the country in 1945 but before the Korean war broke out 1950. It is supposed to be a politically acceptable song both in the North and the South.

This song reflects the long standing Northern policy of advocating direct cooperation with the South without maintaining the USA as a player in the situation – or China, for that matter.

Composition
U Jong-hui 3; 2 2012, 1 older
Hwang Jin-yong 3, one Tansume
An Jong-ho 4 old
Kim Un-ryong 2 old

Lyrics new
Ri Ji-song 1 2012

43 songs; 19 foreign, 2 new Korean 2012 KJU-type + Tansume, 21 old
The repertoire was clearly composed with the beauty of melodies in mind, in a spirit of self-reliant satisfaction. Nearly a half of songs were foreign, though only in a medley, not whole songs. 12 or ½ of Korean songs by MBB vice directors.

This was arguably one of the best of Moranbong Band concerts, and also the last concert of the early period of innocence, when the atmosphere was happy and relaxed, the band behaved in a free manner on stage, and the unfortunate events of demotions and removals had not yet started. All ladies wore civilian clothing throughout the concert, and were very beautiful. I have tried to collect here photos of all of them, with some editing by me (more light, focusing, etc).

I’d love to see more of those pictures they used in “Please let the snow fall.” The ladies were quite candid in those!

I was actually referring to the ones used as the background for the song. In your screen grab of Kang Ryong-hui, we can see Sonu Hyang-hui and Cha Yong-mi in the background wearing winter military uniforms. I doubt we’ll see more of those.

One of the best images of Pak Mi-kyong I have seen. Thanks, Pekka!
